Just listened again and here is my in depth analysis :) </p> <p>I am totally team Kimbra. It sounds to me like they just clashed and broke up (him making her feel bad about herself, like she'd always done something wrong) and he even says he was grateful when it ended. So the breakup seems mutual and fine. His beef is that she said they could still be friends and then cut him out of her life. But they aren't dating anymore so too damn bad. I don't think anyone has an obligation to stay friends with an ex. And once she broke up with him she maybe got over loving him and was able to see even more clearly why he wasn't the kind of person she wanted in her life. He doesn't even want her back he just wants her to want him in his life-- controlling! </p> <p>Also, (really reading into things now) I think the video supports the idea that he was sort of the dominant one in the relationship and made her feel unheard. The video starts and he is not camouflaged into the background but she is. Like he is the one who the world sees and she is just decor.
