@ladybee: I believe it happens anywhere from 12-36 hours after you get the +.
And your temps will def clue you into when it happened as well.

Not that there's no point to BD before bc his sperm will live in you , I forget for how long?? But having sex before means less build up of sperm. So that when you will/have O'd thee are less fishes swimming in there. I would think you want more fishes swimming when you will be O'ing. Anyway, just my opinion if its gotten to the point where your DH is not feeling it.

@regberdaisy: thats a good idea because the OPK lets you know BEFORE Oing right? Not the day of? I'm going to have to spice things up. Hopefully the holidays will take our minds off of everything and we can just relax.

Yes, inconsistent cycle-er over here. For a while I thought I was holding steady at 35 days, which was already long, but all of a sudden, I had one that was 80+ days that came out of nowhere, followed by another that was 42 days.

It definitely helped that I started temping and charting in the middle of that crazy long cycle because once I saw the obvious temp shift, I knew that I was at least ovulating and that my LP was 11-12 days. I also started being able to differentiate my CM. I think that in a way, charting obsessively and knowing what my body was telling me made me relax because after that, my cycles got shorter and I was on track to have a 31-day when I found out I was pregnant. That was after 6/7 months but really only four cycles because of the wonky ones.

Good luck and I hope your cycles start cooperating with you!

@ladybee: haha awwww. Why don't you wait till you get a positive on your OPK then before BDing? Or maybe take a break for a cycle to rekindle the romance back into it. After a while it does start to feel like a chore. ESP for the guy, I think. Buy a sexy negligee and spice things back up! ;)

@regberdaisy: we start BDing where we *hope* I'll be Oing and then I still won't O for like 10 days and by then we are both so sick of sex. DH tends to stop giving it his all at that point. I would really like clomid but I'm not sure my doctor will agree or care. If he tells me to keep trying I'm going to cry in his office. and then send him the bill for all my OPKs :P

@regberdaisy: I've been doing both since Jan. Sadly, there isn't a clear trend which is what is making it so hard. My luteal phase is consistent but that's it.

My cycles were inconsistent and went up to 45 days once during TTC I believe? I didn't do anything. We got a BFP on cycle 9. Had it not happen that cycle though we were planning on getting a referral from my OB for a specialist.

ETA: I charted, took temps then started using OPKs towards the last couple cycles. How long have you been doing both? Once I started doing both I did notice a trend of when I was ovulating. Much later in the high 20 range. And my luteal phase was borderline too short.

@anonysquire: we're you charting or using OPKs? both suggest I am ovulating we just don't ever know when to expect it. Super frustrating! Good luck to you and hopefully a fertility doctor can help. I'm praying that I'll get Clomid tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes I had that problem and went to my OB in May and found out I wasn't ovulating. My cycles were like 45-50-55-35 days. They put me on Clomid for a couple of months and it made my periods normal length but I only ovulated one of the months. I am now off the clomid and my cycles went back long. So now I am going to a fertility doctor in December. Good luck!!!

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and I am just curious what everyone else did. Here is our info. We got pregnant first month of trying and right of BC and mc'd at 7 weeks. That was almost 7 months ago and my cycles are inconsistent and long. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do?

Here are my last several cycles.

Cycle 1: 41 days
Cycle 2: 37 days
Cycle 3: 27 days
Cycle 4: I'm sitting pretty at 49 days today.
