Yes, what @Giraffe: and @BabyBoecksMom: said :) Your vet may be able to help.

I know plenty of people who use doggie diapers and are happy with them too.

@katsupgirl: no experience with the diapers, but have you had it checked for a bladder infection? My parents dog started peeing in the house and they thought he was doing it out of spite but it turned out that he had a bladder infection and couldn't control it.

@katsupgirl: my male dog marks in the house when we are gone, so we use a belly band (can find one at any major pet store.) It's doesnt get gross because we put a maxi pad in it so if he does pee then its as easy as throwing the pad away.

@katsupgirl: Not really. We have two, so if he pees in one (I do the smell test, that part is kind of gross) then I just throw it in the wash and use the other in the meantime. My mom has the same issue with her little dog and she puts a maxi pad in his wrap and just throws that away. I haven't tried that method yet, but she really likes it.

It is really easy to get on and off. It just wraps around his belly and seals with velcro. He can get it off if he plays hard with our other dog, but most days it stays on fine.

I am pretty sure this is the brand we have.

My pug marks all over my house. It is infuriating. We got him a male wrap and it helps a lot (when we remember to use it).

@Giraffe: thanks for that! I'll give the vet a call. I didn't think to ask because when they diagnosed him it just seemed like that was that. It would be such a game changer! I don't even have people come over to my house anymore. My dog is 15.

Have you talked to your vet about this? We have a 14.5-year-old dog who was having some incontinence issues, and our vet was able to prescribe a medication called Proin that cleared it up literally overnight. It's fairly inexpensive, easy to give (tastes like a treat) and he hasn't had any side effects from it. It might not be as effective if the behavioral issue is the real problem, but maybe it's worth a try.

My LO is starting to get more mobile and we have an older dog who pees in the house. Part of it is because he has a condition and I suspect part of it is due to spite. I was thinking of getting him doggie diapers. Any experiences with those?

My mom blocked off the dining room as a dog free zone so baby can play on the floor during the day while I'm at work.

I don't know what we're going to do when she can walk.

Suggestions?
