We are out as much as possible usually, especially when the weather is in the 40s. That way, on really cold/rainy/snowy days, it's okay to stay in. We luckily have a community playroom in our building too. Aside from that, DD #1 (almost 4) goes to preschool three times a week and ballet once a week. I take the two to the library for storytime once a week too. Other than that, playdates. Sometimes on a day with nothing planned at all, just a walk is nice. Even my older DD finds grocery shopping and trips to the bank fun because I keep them short and try to get her involved as much as possible (putting things in grocery cart, giving debit card to cashier, etc). It's not easy juggling two out and about and solo, but it gets easier!

Edited to add: oh with nursing the little one while out, that can be tricky. I try to plan outings around feedings, but with how hungry they are in the beginning, it's almost impossible to avoid having to feed in public. I always bring my cover and have also learned a few times to nurse while she's in her carrier (Beco Gemini).

I recommend getting some good outdoor gear and going for a nice long walk anyways. Kids need fresh air.

You could try making some busy bags. These are fun little activities that fit in a ziploc bag. This website is a great resource: http://moneysavingmom.com/tag/busy-bag-ideas

What kinds of things do you do with your toddler on cold/snowy/rainy days?

I am a SAHM to a 25 month old and a 2 month old, and most of the time we just hang out at home. But, DS1 is starting to go stir-crazy and I'm beginning to feel more confident in taking two little ones out. We've been taking walks and going to he park a lot, but our weather hasn't permitted that every day.

So, what would you do to entertain your LO outside of your home? I'm on a budget, and we need to do something that still allows me to nurse DS2. Any ideas?
