@My Only Sunshine: awesome. Thanks! @daniellemybelle: I will check that out. Thank you!
@erinbaderin: well it's still hot but we are in California. No sprinklers due to drought. :(

Would it still be too hot to play outside if you set up the sprinkler and let them run around in it?

@My Only Sunshine: I like that IG too!

I also just found out about the website Productive Parenting where you can get activities for your child's age emailed to you on the days you choose.

I asked LO's former daycare teacher for ideas because were were going to host a playdate today before the HFM scare. She suggested dress up with plenty of items to go around, or painting the outside of the house or sidewalk with water. I know the last one isn't outdoors but you could maybe even paint on a chalkboard or something inside with water?

We had my daughters BFF for a couple days while she became a big sister and I was worried they'd get totally bored. Turns out having a friend over made all the boring toys fun again. Yes they dumped out ALL of the toys but they had fun all day.
We did some colouring. Had a dance party. Tried on all the shoes. Read all the books. Did some chalk on the patio. Went for a walk.
It was tough looking after them both (with baby and while pregnant) but it was a lot of fun.

When we have a friend over, C is suddenly VERY into whatever toys the friend looks at- like a toy she got a few weeks ago and hasn't touched since, as soon as her friend touched it yesterday she had to have it. So don't underestimate how into her toys she will be.

We also like to do finger painting on rainy days (clothes off, in the high chair strapped in!), or play doh. Or you could let them splash around in the bath- c is obsessed with this bath paint I got her from the target dollar spot.

Fill ziplock bags with paint and tape them to a window. Or fill them with clear hair gel and sequins/plastic confetti. My LO loves to squish the gel around.

Color wonder coloring sheets. Or Imagine Ink sheets.

Fingerpainting? Playdoh? Colouring books. They might also just be so happy to have a little friend that they will keep themselves occupied.

Help! I'm watching my friend's toddler along with my own Wednesday morning. It's too hot to play outside, and my daughter is over her toys. Any fun activities for two toddlers? Easy art projects? I feel like I've exhausted all my ideas and am afraid we will go stir crazy.
