My son is allergic to Milk Protein, Peanuts and Sesame. Since he was breastfed until he was 1 he wasn't diagnosed with the allergies till we switched him to whole milk, 2 weeks later we had him tested for Milk, (Peanuts, Sesame, Soy and a few others since we were there) and left with an epi pen. I hope that when he turns 3 he'll grow out of the Milk Allergy. He can still have milk in baked goods which is a positive sign that he might outgrow this.

Thanks @Looch, I keep testing those items every couple of months to see if she's over them. No luck yet but I'll keep trying.

Acck, Red, sorry to hear that!

Regarding eggs, I'd try them again after 1 year, just to see if it is something she has outgrown. I've heard a few stories from my MIL and GMIL about babies and eggs...first time my MIL fed my DH a tiny bit of egg yolk, he puked all over his stroller, lol. After 15 months, he was able to digest them just fine.

My son had a pretty bad case of eczema when he was 2 months old, and luckily it has gotten better. Unfortunately, he is allergic to diary and wheat, and I have had to eliminate it from my diet. There may be more foods that he is allergic to, but I'm not certain. I have not brought my LO to get blood work done to figure out his allergies because there is a waiting list, and the soonest I can bring him in would be December. I'm not positive of the effectiveness of the tests on a baby.

I really do hope that it goes away. I hate to see him suffer.

Yes, I breastfeed and she spits up white curdled stuff when I eat those items. I logged everything I ate and systematically tested those foods to see if she reacted to them.

Also accidentally fed her dairy twice (yogurt melts and cheese in a sauce) and she projectile vomitted and had an allover body rash.

How do you know the allergies already, especially eggs and chocolate? From your diet?

I have a lot of food allergies and eczema and unfortunately, I think I passed that trait on to my LO 'cause she's allergic to dairy, eggs, soy, and chocolate. And while she's not allergic to citrus or anything tart, those items cause her eczema to flare up.

These allergies are not uncommon in babies but they usually go away by their 1st birthday. LO is 11 months now and I'm crossing my fingers that they do go away eventually 'cause I hate to think that she'll always have to be so careful with food. :(

On a similar topic, my food allergies didn't manifest 'til my teen years. I asked my Dr. and he said that this isn't unusual and that changing hormones might be to blame. Oddly enough, some of things that I was previously allergic to (mangoes, melons), I no longer have allergic reactions to (I'm only mildly allergic to mangoes and melons and tasted some before feeding it to my LO). Changing hormones again?

Does you or your LO have allergies? and did they go away at some point?
