@Foodnerd81: I traveled with LO, her infant seat, and snap and go at 6 mos and gate checked everything without a bag. It all worked out fine. We didn't bring the base either and it worked out fine...

@Foodnerd81: I just ordered this bag. According to some of the reviews, it fits the stroller, car seat, and some other stuff. Once I get it, I'm going to see what all fits in it because we're traveling during Christmas. We're bringing the stroller, car seat, and car seat adaptor for the stroller. I'll let you know how it all fits for me.

@Foodnerd81: I never even used the base at home--small car so even the extra 2 inches of leg room was worth it for the hassle of remembering to buckle. Just make sure to buckle EVERY time! It's easier to forget when you're used to the base.

We have a britax chaperone so flying with the base was a real pain, it's waaay to big. We left it at home just to save the trouble and used the bucket seat and seat belt without the base once we got there

We traveled with our Snap and Go stroller, car seat, and base and it worked great for us. We bought the orange Babies R Us gate check bags. You're allowed to gate check both a stroller bag and a car seat bag (at least on United...couldn't hurt to check your airline policy).

@Alivoo01: Urgh-- I forgot we need to get a travel bag of some sort.

Has anyone had success putting a Snap and Go stroller base, infant car seat, and car seat base (for the car) in one bag and gate checking? Recommendations on the bag?

W traveled across the country last month and I was worried about this. We had never used to infant seat without the base and I felt like I wanted to bring it, but I was worried the the base could get damaged during air travel and wouldn't be safe. We ultimately decided not to bring the base and I think it was the best choice. One we watched some videos and practiced, it was super easy to use the seat without the base.

If the base will fit into the travel bag, I say bring it. It seems so much easier to snap the car seat in and out of the base instead of belting in it every time you're in and out of the car.

I have never traveled with the base and don't think it is worth it as long as your car will have locking seatbelts (which any rental car should, as all cars after a certain date have to and rental cars are always news). I actually think our car seat feels more secure (doesn't wiggle as much) when using the seatbelt method. It's a pain to get the seat in and out of the car, but not as much of a pain as lugging the base around.

We brought ours on a weekend trip to Vegas-- we put the bucket snapped into the base and put that whole thing into a carseat bag and gate checked it. I didn't want to deal with the seatbelt each time we got in and out of the car.

We brought ours. We bought a car seat travel bag and snapped the seat into the base, put them both in the bag and checked them. We were going to be putting her in and out of the car a lot so it was just easier to bring it. Plus I am not confident at all with my seatbelt only installation!

For me, it would depend on how I had to transport the base to the final destination...in some cases, it might be less expensive to buy a new base.

We went away for two weeks in the summer and didn't bring the base. Using the seatbelt with ours was super easy though and we weren't spending too much time in the car.

Gosh, if I was going to be somewhere for a week, I would bring it! It's so easy to just click the infant seat in.. I hated having to do it the seat belt way, so I would bring it?

I've read several times not to bother bringing the base forthwith infant car seat when you travel. But... Why not? How long of a trip would you have to take to make it worth it?

We are traveling for a week at Christmas and bringing our car seat and the snap and go stroller base. So the seat will be in and out of our rental car a lot, I assume. The car will have the latch system, I assume, which our car does not. It seems like it would be worth bringing the base but I've read not to so many times I am wondering if I'm missing something!

We have also never installed the seat without the base so need to practice that anyway.
