He's so used to getting in and out on his own now, and that means he's on the sidewalk side as well. DS#2 (due any day now!) will be in the infant seat behind the driver. Daycare is on a busy street and I much prefer having the toddler next to the sidewalk. So much easier to get her situated now than in the middle with my growing belly. Infant seat fits best behind the driver. I know that feeling of not wanting to move it- in our new car it's very easy but in the old one it was such a production!! I never actually have seen the adjuster since the diono just didn't fit in or old car at all. You could also try the middle seat if that's allowed in your car?
