At 8 months, I have mostly stopped carrying it when we are out and about! I just take her out and either put her in stroller or carry/wear her! So much easier than dealing with the bulkiness!

7 months and 17 lbs! I used it with a stroller frame for long errands but carrying it in and out of daycare was killing my wrists.

DS is 8 months and almost 17 lbs, and we have the heavy Peg Perego. We live on the 2nd floor so I carry him up and down in it every day. I've always taken the steps one at a time holding onto the railing. Aside from that, I'm honestly just used to it, taking small steps. I love that I can carry him in and out of the car if he falls asleep. I'm going to miss that when we have to switch to the convertible.

I don't carry it anymore at 7m. I leave it in the car and when we do take it out, immediately hook it to the stroller.

Pretty early on. I started regularly leaving it in the car at 7ish months. I would only take it out if she was sleeping. But from about 2 months on, I would take it out mainly to go inside the house and would babywear elsewhere.

We switched to a convertible around 5 months when he was about 16 lbs. It was killing my back. For the convertible I put a white crib fitted sheet over it to keep it cool and have shade clings.

Commenting to follow. I am in the same boat. LO is 8 months old and at least 20 pounds. I do the same thing by propelling with my leg.

How much did LO weigh when you quit toting him/her in and out of the car in it? I can barely walk and carry the thing with one hand anymore...I have to take really small steps and use my leg to propel it forward. But won't it get super hot and make her miserable if I keep it in the car all summer?
