Our update from the pediatrician, she looks great and doesn't have an ear infection. He said it could be a bug or it could be teething or it could just be her new norm. He said some kids just vomit daily late in the day from all the gas they build up.

Not sure how this is going to fly with daycare. She has to be symptom free to return. The dr seemed surprised by that as well. Ugh!

Just an update... MD was convinced that DS had a bug and i was crazy for saying I thought he had an ear infection and turns out I was right.
The last 2 that we have had (he's 10 months) he has had random vomiting over a couple of days (he'd keep one bottle down and immediatly vomit the next), lower appetite, mild diarrhea and general tiredness/crankiness. He never had a fever and didn't start tugging on his ears until about 2 days in.
I would have his ears checked just in case. Better safe than sorry.
Hope she feels better soon!

I agree that it sounds like a bug. Xander just had something similar where he was vomiting and had diarrhea. We just had to wait it out. Hoping your LO feels better soon!

The one time my lo vomited (rather than spit up), it turned out she had a double ear infection. She also had a fever on and off (99-101) and was generally pretty miserable, though

So sorry! It sounds like a tummy bug to me. When my older was sick with a tummy bug as an infant he would have diahhrea up to his neck and vomit but his demeanor would be fine. I remember one illness where he had loose stools for a week.

At the doctor now with my little one. Very similar symptoms as yours. Last time we had this it was an ear infection. Would see the MD for sure. Ours cleared up very soon after starting antibiotics. Good luck!!

So sorry! It could be a bug... K had something that gave her diarrhea for a good 2 weeks. I still don't know if she still has it or she's just going that much now!! I hope the ped can give you more answers! It sucks that there's nothing to do

@catomd00: Thanks and that was my initial thought. My older gets really short bugs. Clears her stomach and then is better. So multi-day bugs are new for me. And this just feels weird in that it's only once per day.

My 3 month has been doing something similar but he also has bronchiolitis so I'm chalking it up to general virus vomiting and having too much mucus in his belly. I hope it stops soon though because it is always a huge amount and is making a mess! Our dr said we could try pedialyte but he is drinking / wanting the milk fine and still having good diapers. Hope your LO feels better soon!

I think it could be any number of things from an ear infection (both kids would always have loose bm with ear stuff) or just a run of milk stomach bug. Hoping it passes quick!

Let me first say I've called our pediatrician's after hours and they said there wasn't anything to do (yet) and I could call the pediatrician tomorrow during normal hours if I wanted.

LO is five months old and seems to have a little cold (cough and some nasal congestion). She's behaving normally and sleeping okay.
On Thursday she vomited on the drive home from daycare.

Friday morning, a very loose stool diaper. Friday evening at bedtime, vomit again. Someone else was caring for her and said she didn't burp or finish her bottle but vomited after falling asleep.

Saturday morning, very loose stool again. Spit up more than her normal throughout the day on Saturday.

Sunday morning, again loose stool. Sunday evening, vomit again. Again she didn't burp. She had burped halfway through her bottle but not at the end. And vomited probably about an hour after finishing.

Other than the loose stool diaper in the morning, she doesn't have any other BM's. And she's having enough wet diapers. She is formula fed and I've reduced her bottles after vomiting to 4 oz instead of her normal 5-6 oz.

She doesn't have any signs of dehydration and doesn't seem bothered. She's very happy both before and after vomiting.

She hasn't had a fever. But she has been messing with her ears today. Which might be a new discovery or something else. I've read where vomit and diarrhea can be symptoms of an ear infection.

I will talk to a pediatrician in the morning, our normal one is on medical leave. But tonight, my mommy anxiety is on high.

Any thoughts on what we might be facing? Anyone been down this road before?

(sorry that was so long!)
