I'm sure if you dump your kid in it a lot, it's bad for them, but E was crawling before 6 months and walking at 10, so it didn't affect her negatively. But she did really like sitting up for a change of pace. I found we only used it for like 15-20 minutes at a time, and unless our babe had an underlying hip or spine issue, I didn't think it would hurt. My LO is 4.5 mo and loves it when we help her sit and/or gets to set up propped up in the Boppy on our bed. I feel like she would enjoy something like the bumbo but I've heard mixed things about if they're good for babies to sit in, and I also think she would only use it for a short time until she sat up on her own. We're really not big baby gear people (didn't own a swing, RnP, etc) but she just loves sitting so much!! </p>
