We used our bathroom sink (with DH's help) and now use our kitchen sink (can sit up unassisted). Never saw the point of an infant tub; it's definitely doable.

We use this one, it folds up super slim, we even have packed it in our carryon while traveling! We put a hand towel over the fabric of the seat to keep LO from slipping in it. The wet hand towel seems grippier than the netting.

We had a Puj and loved it. We used it in our kitchen sink, and I probably used it past the time I was supposed to because I liked it so much. If you do try a Puj, make sure to buy it from somewhere it will be easy to return and test it out in your sink ahead of time.

@Silva: our bathroom sink is small and oval and it works there. I've also used it in our rectangular kitchen sink and it's great there too. I think the biggest obstacle would be having a low faucet.

We had the PUJ tub and I wasn't a fan. There wasn't enough room for DS to sit in it without hitting the faucet.

Do you have a bathtub? You can always buy a seat/tub like the one @littlek posted and leave it in the tub when you aren't using it and just sit it on the floor if someone is in the shower.

@oliviaoblivia: does it only work in oval sinks? Do you think any size oval sink would work?

We have a teeny bathroom and this fits great--folds flat and hangs on the towel rack. Just make sure you read the directions so that when you have it on the newborn setting, it doesn't spontaneously fold out to the older baby setting.

http://www.amazon.com/Boon-Naked-Collapsible-Bathtub-White/dp/B005VLXIS4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361929996&sr=8-2&keywords=naked+baby

We also borrowed this one, which our 4 month old likes, so we can put water in the actual tub and she can kick in the water.

We have a tiny apartment and so I'm trying to avoid extra, unnecessary baby gear. But I'm also terrified of bath time before the baby has any head control. Looking at the puj but unsure if it would work in our small pedestal sink or the kitchen sink? Should I wait and give it a try old school (kitchen sink without tub)?

I will add that my husband will be home for at least 6 weeks with us, so we'd have two sets of hands early on.
