We put a Snuzzler in our City Mini reclined all the way back and that was perfect. Baby Boy loved his walks even as an infant. That said, if I was going somewhere that was going to be too bumpy I preferred to carry him in the Moby.

@mediagirl: Great timing, right? Today it is going to be 80 in Boston and it's so nice to think that I will be enjoying weather like this with my LO soon!

We have the Phil & Ted's that doesn't have a bassinet but does lie flat so I plan on using that or the snap n go with our car seat. Won't spring/summer walks be so lovely!?

We had an infant car seat that went into our stroller. But for walks when she was really little me and my husband would just carry her and trade off if she got heavy.

@chopsuey119: you mean don't dress her in 3 layers as a newborn even though that's what my MIL swears she will need? In June. In NC.... ;-) I think mid-day walks in July and August will definitely be out. They're too hot for ME, I can't imagine taking a newborn out there that time of day.

@mediagirl: ooh.. dood. totally didn't know you're in nc! yeah, carrier might be too warm, but if you walk in the am or evening it should be okay i think. especially if you dress for the weather?
dang. i would go crazy if I woke up at 4am.. i need my sleep!

@Thehistoryofus: we're getting the B-Agile and I think it goes back far enough. When we tested it at BBB, the guy helping us said as long as we use one of those inserts, she should be fine. I'm hoping so, I would hate to get her all sweaty and hot if not needed.

@chopsuey119: yeah...4am again. It's going to be June when she's born and we'll have all summer for walks together. I was worried the Ergo or car seat in stroller would be too warm in our hot summers here in NC.

I took our son out in the stroller (laid flat) for the first time when he was 4 weeks or so. No inserts or anything and it was fine. That said, he's very sturdy and doesn't seem as floppy as most little babies.

@mediagirl: We used the Britax B-Ready stroller with our infant for short walks when she was a newborn. It lays pretty much flat and we used a head support. We stayed on paved roads so it wasn't bumpy and it was fine. It was too hot to have her in the car seat.

The ergo also works well for walks!

Dang you were up early this morning!!
We didn't really take walks with our LO.. I would probably take an infant out for walks in a sling or carrier.

@mediagirl: i would probably give the stroller a test run first and see how much she moves around in it, if at all. in the car seat + stroller frame, the baby is super secure. i just don't know how that compares with the stroller. but it sounds fine in theory with the insert!!

i am just picturing you taking a lovely stroll through your neighborhood - pushing a stroller. loving it!

@Andrea: we are getting a Britax carseat and stroller where the carseat snaps into the stroller. I'm just trying to figure out, do we need her in the carseat or can we just plop her in the stroller with the insert?

Yup, some of these things we start thinking about now that we have less than 2 months to go! :-)

We used the same as Mr. Bee. Are you getting a stroller frame?

Otherwise, if your stroller has a special insert so that the baby won't be jostled around, then that sounds great, too. How exciting!!!!

I Iive in a nice neighborhood where I can walk out my front door and take a 3-4 mile walk without having to go on the main road. After our baby is here, while I'm on leave, I'd like to take her on walks with me but don't want to have to deal with the carseat. We aren't getting a pram but my stroller will lay almost flat and I have an insert for it. Is that enough for walking around with a wobbly infant?

How do you go for walks with your infant? Did you just put her in the stroller and do or use the carseat?

I'll have a carrier, as well but I'm thinking of when I want her in the stroller and not strapped to me.
