We tried off and on for a little less than two years (with DH travel schedule we didn't always hit the fertile period) before being referred to an RE. First RE did blood work, semen analysis, and HSG, found nothing wrong, did two rounds of clomid, unmonitored. Weren't happy with our service at that RE so went to another RE, he repeated some testing and looked over our records from previous RE and diagnosed us with unexplained IF and encouraged us to do an IUI with clomid. DH sample was horrible for our IUI so we got a repeat analysis taken and he had bad morphology. Doctor didn't think that would affect our chances but we decided we'd rather put money into IVF rather than more IUIs, signed our IVF papers and found out a week later we were expecting our miracle DS with no interventions, he is now 20 months.

The last month or so DH has had some health issues and it turns out he has low-potassium issues which may be affecting his fertility. Going to do another SA soon to see how his levels are and decide if we will need interventions to try again. We are wondering if his potassium has always been low and if that's the reason it took us so long for round one.

We got ku'd in one cycle with DD when I was 36. Due to health issues with DH we put off trying for #2 until 2015. Began trying again and after 5 months no luck were referred to RE due to my age (38 about to be 39). Testing showed DOR, low AMH, high FSH. Did 3 rounds of clomid/injectables/TI, no luck. Did 2 rounds of meds/IUI, no luck. Decided to stop all treatment bc it was so draining. Got ku'd naturally first non medicated cycle.

I conceived DS the first month of trying at age 31 and he was born when I was 32. Once he turned 2.5, we decided we were ready to try for a second (I had just turned 35). After trying for 5 months, I insisted my OB run some bloodwork to make sure everything was normal and we discovered I had high FSH (12.72) and low AMF (0.79). I was referred to an RE who suggested doing IVF immediately but then found out I was pregnant the next day. I ended up miscarrying at 6 weeks. While waiting for a new insurance plan to kick in at the beginning of the year that would cover IVF, I started doing acupuncture weekly and was put on a special fertility diet. I got pregnant again a few months later but it was a blighted ovum and I needed a D&C. At this point, my new insurance plan had started and I had also found a new doctor. I was gearing up for a Clomid / IUI cycle the month after the D&C but was told I needed to wait another month because there was still HCG in my system from my loss. I ended up pregnant that cycle after the D&C naturally (14 months after I started trying) and never ended up starting treatment despite my fancy new insurance plan that covers infertility. I'm now 37 weeks pregnant.

Diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 20s and had laparoscopic surgery two years before my wedding.

We tried naturally for 6 months then went to RE.
After 12 more months, lots of iuis, and 1 round of Ivf we got pregnant with our son (so 18 months total).

For number 2, got pregnant naturally 1st month of trying but it was a chemical, had 2 failed FETs (one was a blighted ovum), a fresh retrieval and 18 months later we finally had a successful FET that resulted in our second son who is now almost 6 months.

18 months just seems to be our lucky number!

Tried for three+ years. Finally saw an re. They suggested hsg and I got pregnant that cycle but miscarried. After six more months of trying on our own, we decided to go to another re (we moved to another state) and went with 3 cycles of clomid and iui. That was unsuccessful so we jumped into ivf knowing that we would try once and if that didn't work, we would try to adopt. Got pregnant with twins. When the twins were about 9 months, we decided to try for a third on our own, no interventions. If not, we were happy with our two. We have another son within a year of trying (but really, about six cycles that were timed decently - no opks or anything).... and now, we decided during the summer to try for a few months to a fourth, but waited until our trip to Turks and caicos just in case of Zika... and I got pregnant the first cycle of trying! I thought my third kid was the miracle baby, but now, I definitely think this is my miracle baby too...thanks, god!

Tried for 9 months with no luck before DH was diagnosed with male factor infertility. He saw a urologist and had surgery to repair a varicocele. We did two IUIs with the urologist that didn't work. We started seeing an RE and he was diagnosed with a translocation. We did an IVF cycle and got 6 embryos. The first two transfers failed. I got pregnant on the 3rd transfer with our final two embryos but miscarried. We decided to decided to go with donor embryos instead of more IVF. Four years after we started trying I got pregnant on my first EA transfer cycle. DD just turned one. We have one embryo left frozen and are going to go back to our clinic for an FET next year.

Diagnosed with DOR fairly early on TTC (5 cycles) since it was clear something was wrong. Advised by my RE to go straight to injections plus IUI, and it worked on the first try. My twins are 3.5 years old now!

Tried for a year to get pregnant with DS1. During that time I had a laparoscopy and it was found that I had stage IV endometriosis. I was also diagnosed with a luteal phase defect. I finally got pregnant after my first round of clomid.
I got pregnant using clomid again with my DD, and am currently pregnant with DS2 after using vitex. So basically, once we figured out my issues, it's been much easier.

After a year of TTC I started seeing a fertility doctor. She didn't find anything wrong and diagnosed me with unexplained infertility. I did an IUI and then my doctor moved practices and I had to change doctors. Did 3 more IUIs and a round of IVF. After the failed IVF I asked my doctor what she would do differently on a second round and she said nothing. I got a second opinion and found a doctor who was interested in finding the reason for the infertility, and who looked at my first round and suggested some treatment changes. Mainly he suggested having a hysteroscopy to resect a septum in my uterus. Two months later I got pregnant naturally, but had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I did 2 more IUIs, then had another hysteroscopy to further resect the septum, then 2 more IUIs, then a second IVF. Four eggs, only one made it to transfer, and we had our baby boy five and a half years after we started trying. When he was 17 months old I got surprise-pregnant with our second son.

Let's celebrate your success stories after infertility!

I had no trouble getting pregnant with DS1, but with my second I did. I was eventually diagnosed with DOR, low amh and high fsh, and recurrent loss due most likely to egg quality. I was 37. I responded well though, considering, to clomid. We ended up trying an IUI unsuccessfully and few medicated cycles. Because of my age, they were being fairly aggressive and we were ready to start our first IVF cycle when I finally got pregnant (in a medicated TI cycle). That one stuck and my DS2 is now 9 months old!

My best friend had been trying for 5 years without treatment. She had an ectopic and an early loss but finally just had her sweet baby boy last month. So thrilled for her!

Tell us your story!
