I couldn't fall asleep around 5:45 this morning when I woke up to go use the bathroom. I just played around on my phone and here until I got sleepy again.

i took unisom while pregnant.

i've had insomnia most of my life, and eating late at night is a really bad habit of mine. but a full belly makes it easier to fall asleep for me!

I hated that when I was pregnant! I would just lay there. Now I take Tylenol Sleep.

I usually lie in bed and try to fall back asleep unless it's close to the time I would normally get up in the morning, then I just get up.

Ugh, insomnia is the worst!!\

I had really bad insomnia from weeks 20-25 - and tried everything (warm milk, no caffeine, reading, etc etc). I finally broke down and called the doctor. She told me to take 1/2 unisom tablet (over the counter, pregnancy safe med) about 45 minutes before bed. Works like a charm. I still get up to pee 2-3x a night, but can fall back asleep no problem.

I have suffered from severe insomnia since I was a teenager. I went to a sleep specialist in high school because I would go days without sleeping.

My main issues were that I drank too much caffeine and I got myself too stimulated before bed. I really don't drink any caffeine anymore, so that problem is solved, but it's really important not to be on a computer or watch TV for at least an hour before bedtime because the light of the electronic screen stimulates your eyes, which in turn... stimulates your brain and won't let you sleep.

Most of the time, I read when I'm awake. That's really what helps me calm my mind enough to sleep.

I have had some pretty tough nights of insomnia since being pregnant. If you have it, what do you do when you're awake? I'm considering just getting up at this point and doing something productive. Maybe eat something...

How do you get through insomnia?
