Agree with the previous posters and that the milk is going in that fridge temperature so, it should just stay that way. If you're concerned, we actually sometimes put an ice cube or 2 and the kid's milk. Even though it waters it down a little, the kids don't notice, and I'd rather do that than have bad milk.

I use an ironflask with water for myself... I fill it at night and just leave the lid off in the fridge. I bring it to work in the morning and it stays cold well past noon.

Prime the cup with ice first. So let it sit with ice in it for 15-20 minutes, dump that out, then put your milk in, and refrigerated.

Hmmm. That’s a good question. The milk is going to go in at fridge temp tho. And the surrounding temp is obviously fridge temp, so my hypothesis would be that it stays around that temp. The only thing at room temp would be the cup. Do you have an instant read thermometer to test?

Otherwise you could store the cup empty in the fridge overnight and pour the milk in the AM before you put it in the lunchbox.

Ok....I feel like the science doesn't make sense here....

If I fill my kids thermos funtainer with milk at like 10pm, put it in the fridge......then take it out at 5:30 to send with kids to school (no fridge) will it be cold thru lunchtime?

I'm thinking the insulation would keep the fridge coldness out & thus milk would be warm by 10am......no?
