I would email them once more, like others have said. It's annoying, but I'd feel bad not trying to get the money to the right person.

I'd set up an auto-reponder that responds specifically to their email address with some cutesy, yet to the point response.

I know that when I send emails my account just auto-fills the 'to' line from my address book when I start typing. Maybe these women just might not know how to correct their address book?? I would assume they don't actually remember email addresses so they aren't typing it in from memory. I barely know my husband's cell phone number and I certainly don't know any of my close friends' email addresses! But I totally agree, if I were to send someone a $100 gift card, I'd make for darn sure I had the correct email address!

This happens to me ALL the time. For awhile some woman was emailing me these really upset emotional emails meant for her son. Even after I emailed her back. So bizarre.

I would ignore the email and also mark it as spam. if you have already emailed them letting them know they have the wrong email address then thats the best you can do.

If you're using Gmail, you can create a filter to trash or spam all emails from each person on that list. That way, all emails from them will disappear from your inbox without you ever having to see them!

I agree that one last email saying that all future emails will be marked as spam and not read is the way to go. I feel bad for the other Jill but this sounds way too annoying for you.

@Andrea: @blushink: I already sent an email stating that and saying that all further emails will be considered SPAM and immediately deleted. That was my 6th email to this person/this group, as well! I'm so annoyed, I just want to ignore it and let them deal with the problem when they realize the other Jill didn't get her $100!

So, for about 2 years now, I have had a group of people emailing me from somewhere in Minnesota. Apparently they have a woman with my name in their group and keep messing up her email. I have repeatedly asked them to stop emailing me and let them know that the other Jill might actually want to receive her emails; please update your group lists!!

Well, today I got three more emails from people. One was a $100 gift card to Amazon.com from one of the women in the group! Seriously. If you were going to send someone money, wouldn't you make doubly sure you are sending to the right person?

I'm trying to figure out what to do now. Ignore the email? Email the person back saying, once again, you have the wrong email....? I want to just ignore it and let them figure it out I'm so annoyed with the whole deal.

What would you do?
