DD had something like this. Fever and a wet cough. We took her to the doctor and they said she had a respiratory infection. Gave us a nebulizer. We used the nebulizer and gave her medication for one day, she started to sound much better. But I think it was because we closed all our windows. we have a lot of flowering trees where we lilve. I think it was allergy related because the antibiotics dont usually work that fast.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Sorry, They said toddlers can complain from stuff like their head hurting, their ears hurting and even a stomach ache that can all really be strep. Lack of appetite is another sign I believe. But with a fever that high, I would go have her checked. Its pretty contagious.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: can you shine a light in her throat an see if her tonsils have white spots? My 2.5 year old had strep and her throat never hurt.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: when B had strep, his throat only hurt for a day and then the pain went away but he carried it for MONTHS. I would have her swabbed before you get it (if it is strep)!

We just had strep and they said to really watch for it in DD (who's 3.5) because they often don't articulate that their throat hurts.

Are seasonal allergies bad near you? My voice always gets a little weird when my allergies are flaring up. That wouldn't account for the fever, but she could have a virus and allergies at the same time.

DD2 had a fever for three days with no other symptoms. It hovered around 101-102.4 even with medications. Probably just fighting a bug!

My daughter will be 3 in 2 days and she has had a fever since Sunday night. It was just low-grade, but yesterday she woke up and it was pretty high, and by the end of the afternoon it had spiked to 103. She was very lethargic and had no appetite. But other than the fever, her only other symptom is a thick, froggy sounding voice. That's the only way I can describe it! I remember my mom always said that my voice sounded thick/froggy when I had strep throat as a kid, but DD1 is saying that her throat doesn't hurt.

Today, her fever has broken, she has a bit more energy, but her voice still sounds really weird.

Does anyone have any clue what this could be?
