Forgot to update this! Here it is finished. The colors are a bit off and it looks bigger in person, but you get the idea.

Thanks everyone! We are starting on it tonight and I think I am going to go with hello.

Now I can't decide if I should just do an outline, or zig-zag to fill in the letters. I'll have to experiment.

@looch: You should! I think it is going to be pretty easy. I'll let you know.

@Reese: I will!

I originally wanted to paint hello on the outside of the door like the picture, but I really want to do the string art and think that two words would be overkill.

My initial thought was with the word welcome, but I do like how playful hello is.

Thanks for all the input. Keep it coming!

I'm going to make some string art for our entry inside our front door.

What phrase do you like more:
WELCOME
HELLO
WELCOME with a painted "to our home" underneath

If you have any other ideas, let me know!

The string-art word will be on the right wall as you walk in our front door. Under it will be a salvaged 2X4 with hooks for coats and things. The word will be centered between the coat closet and wall. We always come in through our garage, but walk past the entry to get to the bedrooms. Guests use the entry about 80% of the time.

Here are some inspiration pictures
