@sunnyday: honestly don't feel bad, there's people calling docs for way less urgent matters. You deserve that reassurance.

Thank you all for responses, super helpful and some good reassurance.

@Mrsbells: I may just call today and say what happened and that I am a little nervous/anxious about the change, and if when results come in if I could have 30 seconds of doctors time just to say "everything looks good" that would be super helpful. We'll see, I feel like a pain!

@sunnyday: For my 2013 baby they didn't do one. For my 2016 baby my doctor told me the new recommendation is to do them on everyone and I had one.

With my second, I had a transvag at the anatomy scan because the tech couldn't find something through the abdominal scan due to the baby's position. I don't remember what she was trying to see, but everything was just fine in the end.

I did not have one with my so three years ago, but did with my three month old. Like another poster said, apparently it is now standard practice to offer; they told me it was recommended, but optional.

I had a TV at 20 weeks, it's routine for us. The tech said I could decline, but that measuring cervical length on the outside is not considered accurate or good practice anymore. The tv was just to measure cervical length. I didn't decline bc I've had them before and they're really not that bad and if my cervix looked short from the outside, she said they'd have to measure vaginally anyway... Maybe it looked short from the outside and they wanted to double check?

With both kids I had TV done during the anatomy scan because it was hard for her to measure my cervix abdominally. For my first, my cervix length was normal. For my second, it was low. but I do think it was just normal routine for both

I had a complete placenta previa (that moved by 36 weeks) therefore I had a TV ultrasound every couple of weeks during my second pregnancy.

I just had my anatomy scan last week and yes, she had to do a TV because I apparently have placenta previa (which I also had with my first dd).

I didn't have this done, but was forewarned that it may happen if they needed to check where your placenta is for placenta previa. So I would assume it's for that or just checking your cervix length/thickness.

Anatomy scan today, my normal clinic cancelled with a sick tech so I got in at another local option. Tech told me nothing, not "everything looks good", "growth look on track", "baby looks good, but I saw something your doctor will discuss with you". Told me mid ultrasound she needed to do a transvaginal ultrasound to check my cervix. This is my third baby and definitely never had a transvaginal beyond 10w along.

I realize if it's bad, my doc will call soon, just wanted to check in here to see if anyone has any experience and what came of it.
