@meggrune: Almost nobody I know on HB or IRL does it "strictly" - I use it more as a resource to find recipes and resources that are more in-line with the general way i want to eat! I still treat myself to toast, bagels etc on the weekend, don't cut out dairy or beans.. I started out just trying to phase out cereal and bagels in the morning, bread and wraps in the evening, etc, and needed help figuring out how to do that. You can follow it as strictly or loosely as you want!

@meggrune: check out a book called the Insulin Resistance Diet. It helped me lose a few pounds and perhaps not so coincidentally we got lucky on our first round of Clomid -- I also had PCOS.

Thanks everyone!

@sorrycharlie: thanks! I took a look at what they suggested!

@JoJoGirl: paleo is certainly along the lines of what i have been looking at and I have picked up some ideas from paleo threads and links to other sites, but it scares me a bit! So many people are so into it and I don't think I have that kind of devotion at this point!

Welcome! I don't have a specific app I use, but there are lots of Paleo threads on here which should meet the same requirements.. including blog posts on the main HB page and threads on here where people ask for recipes and whatnot. This is my favorite Paleo/Primal cookbook: http://www.amazon.com/Primal-Blueprint-Quick-Easy-Meals/dp/0982207743
And check out the Primal Blueprint website with Mark Sisson!

Welcome! I can't think of it off the top of my head (I don't use it) but recently read about one in a magazine, maybe Parents or something - let me check!

eta - maybe this would be helpful? http://parentingsquad.com/top-meal-planning-apps-and-websites-for-busy-parents

Hello...

I have lurked on and off for quite a while, but the possibility of a PCOS diagnosis is bringing me out of hiding! My husband and I are still waiting to start our family, but abdominal pain over the past two years has had me seeking information from several doctors leading to multiple ultrasounds and several blood tests.

I have been researching ways to reduce symptoms of PCOS and often a lower carb diet is recommended which is proving to require a lot of planning as my default foods are always carb based.

So finally to the question... Does anyone have a preferred meal planning app that creates shopping lists and has nutrition information for foods on the list?

Thanks!
