She just wouldn't take one. I'd warm them up, put milk on them but nothing worked. I continued to try sporadically for the next few months. Finally at almost five months she decided she was interested in them. I read somewhere (Happiest Baby on the Block maybe?) that in order to encourage your baby to take it, you should put it in their mouth and then try to take it away. Their reflex is to suck it back in! We started him on it when he was 4 weeks old or so. We used the Avent ones.
