my LO is 6.5 months and we started purees at 6 months, and we're still mostly on once a day. she also reaches for our food, but we agreed not to do BLW at this stage. Occasionally we'll give her 2 servings in a day, but we're trying to make sure she takes in enough BM still (she hasn't been), so we're not letting her fill up on solids yet. we've been doing mostly fruits and veggies but just started oatmeal this week as well.

We did a combination of BLW and purees, so don't feel like you have to do one or the other - just go with what feels right. We started with one meal a day, at dinnertime. I would nurse DD when I got home from work, and then offer solids. We mostly did fruits/vegetables and baby oatmeal mixed with fruit (often prunes because DD had some digestive issues until she was about 12 mo). Many people will recommend starting with avocado, apples, or banana, but I found that those are not always the best foods for a baby just starting solids. Banana and applesauce are most very constipating and avocado can be hard on stomachs used to BM. My DD threw up for hours after avocado the first couple of times we tried it. Every baby is different, but we had better luck with pears, prunes, peas, and sweet potatoes to start.

I would definitely try BLW if you're comfortable with it! We also used mesh/silicone feeders for things that I thought she wouldn't be able to chew.
At 6 months, we were doing solids maybe once or twice a day. We started with dinner, then added in lunch around 8 months or so, and now we do 3 meals plus snacks at almost 11 months

I agree it sounds like BLW is a great start for her since she's already grabbing food. At 6 months, we did one meal. They recommend breakfast, but I don't have time in the morning to feed DS since I have to drop him off at daycare and head to work so we started with dinner. We added a meal each subsequent month.

Solids is fun bc you get to introduce and eat with your LO like a big kid and not necessarily have to meal prep just for them.

Sounds like BLW would be a great fit! We started with one 'meal' a day, dinner. Slowly introduced breakfast around 7 months and then by 9 months, were eating three meals a day.

If she likes grabbing for food, I would go ahead and try BLW! :) We started with BLW and it went great. I gave her bananas (peeled and cut in half), avocado slices, slices of pears, pieces of sweet potato, etc in the beginning until she got teeth. :)

I started solids with my LO when she was about 23 weeks, but not on a daily basis. We were kind of eating for fun and it was only puree fruits such as apple and banana only. Now that she's 6m1w I want to feed her solids everyday. How many times a day should I be feeding her and how much to feed? Also, I noticed she much rather grab the food herself instead of being fed puree. Would BLW be a better approach? Is she ready for it? TIA!!
