@littlebug: I wouldn't phase it into the bottles.

Just try it straight in a sippy cup and see if he likes the taste (easiest way). If after a few tries he doesn't like it then I would look at doing a mixture.

@T.H.O.U.: Yes. He gets yogurt at breakfast every day at daycare. And he's had lots of cheese and cottage cheese. No dairy issues that we've seen. That's kind of why I'm thinking it's probably ok to start slowly phasing it into his bottles?

We introduced it at about 11.5 months. I mixed 3/4 formula with 1/4 whole milk and gradually phased out the formula. It did take him a couple of weeks to like milk. At first he barely drank anything when it became 100% whole milk. But after about 2 weeks he got used to it.

Just started and my son is almost 15 months old. We had to wait for a few reasons. Basically, I did 75% formula mixed with 25% whole milk for a few days and now I'm gradually increasing to about 30% whole milk and plan to do 50/50 by next week. So far it is working. There are so many methods, but I liked the sounds of this one the best so that is what I tried!

Has he already had dairy (like yogurt or cheese)? If he has, then I would say he's probably close enough to give him a sip or two just to see how he does.

If there is no worry of allergy, just get out a sippy cup and give him a glass and see what he does. He's probably not going to drink more then a sip or two but just see.

D is 11m, 1w and has been EBF this whole time. My supply is starting to drop, and I probably have enough of a frozen supply to supplement for the remainder of his first year, but I'd like to start introducing whole milk so that I can make the switch over soon after his first birthday. Our pediatrician said "no whole milk till 12 months," but I think that's kind of strict.
When did you introduce whole milk? How did you do it?
