@KathrynElizabeth828: yeah, same here--when we decided to start trying, I ordered the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy because it seriously didn't even occur to me that I wouldn't get pregnant the first month. my friend told me about TCOYF, and it is such a fantastic book. you'll love it.

So a couple of thoughts:
_would you consider vaginal temping? I haven't tried it, but it's supposed to be more reliable, and lots of people on HelloBee say it made so much sense of their charts. (you have to be consistent within the cycle, though--no switching halfway through. Vaginal temps are higher than oral.--but since you're on a new cycle you could start now?)
_with much, much kindness: for this month to have been successful, I think you probably would have had to have sex on CD 18 and/or 19? unless you did and it just isn't marked.
_with FF, you can do a manual override and put the ovulation line where you know it goes, and then I think it will calculate the coverline. since you use OPK's, did you enter in the positive OPK test results? I know it takes that into consideration, too.

@LCTBQE- Hi there. I have not read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, but I just added it to my Amazon cart, and I will order today! It sounds like a fantastic resource and I can use all of them I can get. To be honest, I’ve read a fair amount about pregnancy, but not much about fertility. Before we passed our 1-year mark, I think I secretly wished it would “just happen,” so I have a lot to learn!

As for this chart, I am not sure what to think. I do think you are right about ovulation occurring on CD 19 though. It was 18/19 the previous two months, and although I have only been charting 3 months, I’ve been doing OPKs longer and that seems about right. I’ve loved FF though, it makes it easier to see full picture than the paper charts I am doing for my GYNO/OB. I am not sure what to think about this chart (my previous 2 were very straight-forward. I am not going to let it drive me crazy though. Maybe I am fighting off a cold? Who knows? I do, however, wonder if FF intrinsically knew not mark the chart as triphasic.

To answer your question, it did not move the cross hairs, which is a little irritating. I also definitely think you are right about it being something to look at and enjoy after the BFP. I actually had never heard of triphasic until I googled it after my chart started looking weird, then I started obsessing, of course. ;)

@KathrynElizabeth828: Hi again, I just saw this so I'm late to the party. Just wondering, have you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility? She just came out with a new version this summer and it is PHENOMENAL. It will turn you into a charting expert overnight, and it is so informative, funny, and empowering. Anyway, you probably already have it :)

So, I would have guessed based on your CM notes that you did in fact ovulate where FF put the crosshairs, and not earlier. But then if you got your period yesterday, you must have O'd on CD19. Did FF re-set crosshairs when you entered in the menstruation info?

I've driven myself crazy looking for triphasic charts every month, and I've gotten them with both BFPs I've had, but they've only become apparent *after* I already tested positive on the FRER. So it's kind of a fun/cute type of thing, but not much more :)

@Lbee- This is my third month charting but my first two cycles were day 18/19.

I think you ladies are right though, it's ultimately what happens in the next days...

Welcome! It's def possible that it might be triphasic but it'll be a couple days before you know for sure. Here's my chart from way back and it turned out to be triphasic. The dpo on your chart seems about right for you to see the spike but I've heard of some ppl getting triphasic both pregnant and not pregnant. So it's a waiting game unfortunately. But I do think you ovulated around cd 19ish

It's been a long time since I charted, but I think that missing CD19's temp is what is potentially throwing it off. When do you usually ovulate?

Ignoring CD19, I would be inclined to agree with Fertility Friend that you ovulated late. With that said, FF isn't 100% because you have a dotted red line.

I hope it's triphasic and this is your :positive: !

Hi Ladies! My name is Kathryn. My husband and I have been ttc for 13 months now and after the 1 year mark I started feeling like I need a community that understands! After looking through the boards, I feel like I know some of you already. I'm so happy I found this site!

I'm also hoping for some advice! I've only been charting for 3 months (on paper- just transfered all the info into fertility friend today). My first two charts were normal, but this month I had a second temp. spike, and I am wondering if it is possible this could be a triphasic chart? FF is marking it as late ovulation, but the first spike matches my previous two charts. I have a little dip, but it's definitely not pronounced, I don't know how low it usually dips for implantation. Any advice I could get would be great so I could stop obsession so much without really knowing what I am looking at. I did take an early test which was negative. Thanks! :)
