I think it's fine - they'll probably figure out that they fit the 'circle' for both showers, so it'd be weird to not be invited to one of them.

When I get invited to two showers, I just split my gift in half so I have something to take to each shower. Or, if I wanted to give a pricier gift, give that at one shower and something small like a couple books at the other.

I think it's pretty obvious to guests who may have been invited to both that it wasn't your intention. The church one seems like they just invite everyone, like a big group invitation almost, so if I got both invites, I would just choose the one that I wanted to go to. It's not like your mom and your MIL are both inviting them to separate showers, you know?

I went to both of my friend's showers. One was with her family, and she wanted some friends there to hang out with, and the other was our group of friends throwing her a shower.

I went to my sils two showers..... But were very close. I'd me more offended not getting invited to both. I gave gifts at both and she seemed very surprised that I brought one to the second because I already gave her something. But the second was for her and not the baby, a hospital survival kit.

if someone doesn't want to go to both, they can just turn one down.

My regular baby shower is Sunday, but our church is throwing us a couples shower from the rest of the church staff. We didn't have any input on the guest list - all other church staff were automatically invited - and I feel awful that some people were invited to both. I definitely don't want anyone to feel obligated to give us two gifts! I also don't want to seem gift grabby.

I had no idea we were even going to have another shower til yesterday. It was going to be a surprise, but they decided to tell us to make sure the dates worked and the invitations have already gone out. My friends from our Sunday school class are throwing me a freezer meal shower as well, but they're my nearest and dearest so I'm not worried about that one.

Has this ever happened to you? Or have you been on the guest list for two showers? I am so thankful for them but embarrassed some people were included twice :)
