Hey ladies,

I thought I would pop back in here to update what happened today. I ended up having to get a repeat D&C because there was tissue still remaining in my uterus. It was a terrible thing to have to experience twice, and I'm praying this is the end of it.

Thanks for the support and I'm deeply sorry for your losses.

@T.H.O.U.: @FliegepilzHut: @jaguar: @mamabolt: @hilsy85: Thanks for the response, ladies! I'm feeling a bit better about tomorrow knowing that the bleeding is within the range of normal, but still holding my breath and hoping there's no retained tissue. I'll update after my appt tomorrow.

I think it's normal..I had one or two days of moderate bleeding and then none for like 3 days, and then started bleeding again for the next several days. My OB told me to expect this though.

I had a D&C 5 weeks ago. I had 6 days of moderate bleeding and then one incredibly heavy day. I called the OB and they said that sometimes as your hormone levels drop you reach a point where the remaining lining started shedding. Good luck, glad you are seeing doc tomorrow, hope all is still within the range of normal.

@LittleGBee: It's good you have an appt booked in then, just for your peace of mind. They asked a lot of questions at my follow up appt about whether I'd had any tenderness, epic clots, etc, and did a blood draw to ensure that my levels were decreasing. I also needed sleeping tablets for a little while after the loss itself, as I wasn't sleeping well & it was just really hard to wind down.

@LittleGBee: I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm pretty sure I bled for 2weeks or so after my D+C's. The more concerning thing is probably that you're bleeding HEAVILY. If your bleeding is heavier than a period, and especially if you're becoming anemic, there's a chance that you could have some retained tissue after your surgery...meds or (worst case scenario) another D+C can take usually care of that. FX that you get some good news on Monday!

@LittleGBee: that's almost exactly how both of mine went. Light spotting and then heavy bleeding. I'm guess they may do an us to make sure there isn't any extra tissue.

@jaguar: Thanks for taking the time to respond. I definitely think/thought the increase in bleeding was related to my long day, but I expected it to subside if I took it easy, and if anything it's increased in severity. The only other concern was a major dizzy spell at lunch today, I followed it up with a solid three hour nap, but I haven't been sleeping much lately. Sorry for your loss as well.

First up, I'm really sorry for your loss. :(

The body does crazy things after a d&c and no two people are really the same - but it could just be that after your strenuous day at Disney, it exacerbated the bleeding?

Have you had any pain or other concerns? I didn't really know what to expect after mine, and the bleeding was very much on/off until things settled down.

Hi Ladies,

I had a D&C last Friday (baby measured about 9 weeks, I was supposed to be 10 weeks). I opted for a D&C knowing the risks because I have two kids at home and a husband who works long hours with a long commute. It was the best choice for us, but my bleeding has been, well, inconsistent.

The day of the D&C and the day after I had moderate bleeding, the next three days, essentially nothing. Then starting on Thursday (so, 6 days out from D&C, also the day after a very long Disneyland day with my daughter), I started bleeding rather heavily and have been for a few days.

I contacted the OB today and spoke to a nurse. They want me to come in first thing Monday morning, and I guess I don't know what to expect.

Any thoughts on what is going on here? What would be the next steps? I want to know the full spectrum of possibilities so that I can prepare myself and arrange childcare.

Thanks in advance for sharing. Lots of love.
