I had bleeding issues second and third trimester and they could never find any reason for it. It wasn't a lot but it was bright red blood. I delivered a healthy full term little girl, so it didn't seem to cause any issues.

I have lots of experience... I bled through my entire pregnancy!

I had a friable/irritable cervix. I bled no matter what I did. I was on pelvic rest, but I'd still spot brown/pink/red randomly. I'd rush off to triage to be checked because the blood would send me into a panic, but everything was always fine. I bled from 6 weeks on.

I will tell you, once I could feel movement I worried a bit less. There really isn't anything that helped stop my bleeding. It just seemed to happen randomly! I carried to 38+6, when a membrane sweep pushed me over the edge. As much as I bled I never went into preterm labor or anything scary like that.

I know it's very hard not to worry when you have bleeding, but I hope that my story helps bring you a little comfort! Hugs.

ETA: Ah, @spaniellove: reminded me... Bearing down would often times cause more spotting. Definitely drink a ton of water and keep yourself from getting constipated!

I've had on and off bleeding...one incident at 16w was enough to have my OB send me to the hospital, where they decided something (most likely a yeast infection) irritated my angry cervix. They put me on pelvic rest, and I still have light spotting once in a while.

The less they can check your cervix the better, because that can irritate it. And try to drink water, get your fiber, and take Colace if you need to, because constipation can trigger just enough spotting to make you worry. Hang in there!

@runnerd: I spotted a lot first trimester with my LO and he's perfectly fine. :). If you get actual flow and cramps, then if worry. My guess is you are fine. :)

@littlek: what I like to call my "incidents" which are extreme feeling (had an "incident" Monday), panty liner is still enough. The rest of the time the spotting barely makes it to the panty liner. I just feel so defeated when I see blood every single day!

@runnerd: I would ask them to check at your next US. Is the spotting light? Or do you need a panty liner? If light, i wouldn't stress.

I've pretty much bled at least once a week, usually spotting most days though since week 5 of this pregnancy (almost 14wk now). After lots of ultrasounds showing nothing abnormal in uterus, I have no explanation for bleeding except that it's probably from the extra blood flow to cervix. It had gotten better the past weeks - and by better, I mean just brown spotting, but then I have had red spotting/bleeding incidents all week. The doctor doesn't want to see me until my appt on 1/23, i guess bc as of my u/s at 12w things looked good still. So I know that I should feel good, that she feels good about things, but next Thurs can't get here fast enough.

Feeling pretty down, and just wanted to see other peoples experience with continued bleeding (over weeks and weeks), irritable cervix, 2nd tri bleeding, etc. (sure am tired of bugging HB with bleeding questions!!! Lol)

Was your doctor able to do anything to help with bleeding?
