DD is 2 and not ready. Every kid is different and ready is ready. So if she is showing signs, try it! A dry overnight diaper is a great sign. I feel like when they are younger they are more likely to just go along with the training rather than fight about it. Good luck! We got her both a potty chair and a ring for the big potty, and she likes sitting on them, but we haven't gotten much further toward potty training. She totally gets that you sit down, wipe, and flush...but we haven't yet gotten her to understand what ELSE you're supposed to do on the potty! She hasn't once gone to the bathroom there, even after countless times sitting there. I think she's just still too young to put it all together. So for now, we're just encouraging her to do what she does and when she finally goes on the potty, we'll make a huge deal about it and probably start more actively working toward training. DD was potty trained at 15 months and I've known a few kids while working in daycares that were potty trained at 18 months. Go for it! E is showing some interest, so I brought out C's little potty and am getting him to sit on it anytime C goes. Why not introduce it!?! Ha. We really started being consistent around 15 months. At 20 months, she has 1-2 accidents per week. I say go for it!! Her school encourages potty training as soon as they can walk (or 15 months), whichever comes first. This travel potty has been a lifesaver. Back in the days, 18 months seemed more to be the norm for potty training vs 2-3 years old. My cousins, my brother, and I were all trained well before 18 months. That's why my mom is always nagging at me to potty train DS who just turned 2. He got the hang of it quickly! It's not consistent, and he can't walk there yet, but its good to at least get him familiar with it at this age so it won't be so foreign later on. They just used the potty frequently bc of her small bladder but her daughter did not have accidents. I feel like it's way too early to start potty training, but maybe we could start introducing her to the potty? It feels like we did this so long ago with DD2 ha!
