I saw prices as low as $160 each way. I also know of a condo style place that is all renovated, 2 bed/2 bath options for around $150 a night. Flights to Maui from Seattle are usually pretty cheap, and July is not peak time. I've seen flights as low as $179 per person- do you have an Alaska Airlines card? That's a good flight to use the $99 companion fare on. We went in June a few years ago, booked a hotel (on the beach, w/kitchenette) plus rental car for like $800 total. I don't think rates could have possibly gone up that much in the last two years (I work in a hotel, rates bump up maybe 10-20 per year).<br /> I say, shop around. You could probably find a cheaper condo even on VRBO, or look on Expedia for hotel + rental car deals.
