The only reason I am getting my one year old a play kitchen is for him to pull himself up on!

Definitely not too old! Kids usually really, really get into imaginative play around 3 anyway. My 5 year old still plays with ours and I imagine she will for at least another 1-2 years more!

I remember playing with the play kitchen we had up until I was about 9 or so. I have a sibling four years younger than me though, so I often played "down" to her level. My parents moved it outside when we were a bit older and it was great fun to make mud pies in the oven and huckleberry and weeds soup on the stove.

I think it depends on your child more than age. My son uses his kitchen at home as a storage shed for his trains, but at daycare, he plays with it properly.

I volunteered at the church daycare before I had LO and their amazing play kitchen/ dining area kept the kids occupied for a while. They loved it!!! The kids who enjoyed it most were 2-8.

We got ours secondhand from a local family whose daughter was 12! I'm sure she was hanging onto it for sentimental reasons more than she was actually playing with it, but no...2 is definitely not too old.

We have 2 LOs and my son who is 2.5 is constantly telling everyone that he wants a kitchen (and slippers, ha) from Santa! He is really into helping in the kitchen (and lately is surprisingly helpful) and loves pretend play (listening to him from the other room while he is pretending is seriously the best entertainment). Sadly, the reason he is just getting it now is because I couldn't convince my husband to get one until we had a daughter too! My vote is that it's a great 2 year old gift!
