I think it's very reasonable. Our LO went to bed between 7-8pm at that age and now at 5-6 months between 6-7pm.

He slept pretty well and still woke up his usual 2 times to feed. The only thing was that he was up for the day at 5:45am and usually he's up around 6:30-7am. It's now 7am and he's showing signs of wanting to go down for his first nap. So it looks like today's toutube might just be off by an hour or so but that's fine with me.

Agree with others and hope your night was good. My oldest went to bed around 530 until over 12 mos, definitely not too early.

I hope it worked! Our 2 year old still goes to bed by 7 and at that age, was in bed for the night by 6:30, so I definitely don't think it's too early!

LO often goes to bed that early, sometimes as early as 5:30! she's 17 months and 6:30 is pretty typical.

If it works and he's happy then why not? Every baby/kid is different.

My son went to bed at 6:00 every night up until he was about 1. Then it just kept gradually getting later. He's 2 now and goes to bed around 8:30/8:45, and some nights I miss his 6:00 bed time!

@golizzzard: Hope you had a good night! I was going to say my LO's bedtime at that age was around 6-7pm so 6:30pm sounds good to me. And she still sleeps in or goes to bed early if she didn't get enough daytime sleep even now at 7 months.

Mine slept 6pm to 7am at 3 months. It was nice because I nursed him and then left for my evening college class. I got lucky with an awesome sleeper though.

My DD is 3 months and she doesn't go to bed until 10-10:30pm. There is no way I'd want to wake up for the day as early as I would have to with a 6:30 bedtime. But if an early morning works for you, I don't see why it's a problem.

He's snoring pretty loudly so I'm going to treat it as bedtime. I'm taking him upstairs to his crib and I'll see what happens.

I'd treat it as bedtime! My DD never slept that early regularly, but I know plenty of friends whose infants had 530-6 pm bedtimes as a part of their routine!

My ds is 5 months but he started going to bed between 5:45-6:30 around 3 months when I went back to work. I was surprised the first time it happened because I thought it was a nap, but he stayed down for 7ish hours before waking to eat

I've been browsing the boards for about 4 months now and they've been extremely helpful. Now that my DS is 3 months old I've worked up the courage to post and ask for your wisdom.

We had a busy day today visiting family so DS didn't get his usual 3 naps. His last nap was around 2pm and lasted about 30 minutes (his naps usually last 2 hours). We got home and he started fussing so I fed him and he fell asleep at 6:30pm. Do I treat this as a nap or should I take him upstairs to his crib and treat it as bedtime? His usual bedtime is 7:30-8:00pm.
