I'm so surprised by the responses! We were gifted a ball tent and my kids (3.5 and 1.5) love it. That said, I don't think they would like it if they couldn't get in and out themselves, so I'm not sure a pnp would work?

DD was given one for her second birthday. Ours is set up with an inflatable pool. It's a cool idea, but we usually have it packed away. It takes up a lot of space and DD doesn't really play in it often when it is out.

For us, no, not worth it. When my kiddo was an infant, I nannied for a family who had one of the tent ball pits. My kiddo didn't have any interest in it. Of course, that was what my mother in law got for kiddo' first birthday...and then was all hurt when my daughter wouldn't even go in it. We've brought it out a couple of times since then. She likes it for about a day, and then I'm just cleaning up balls and she's not interested.

We were gifted one and the novelty wore off very quickly. Plus cleaning up all the balls got really old pretty quickly.

I did this in a pnp with just 100 balls. It was good for a few months. Essentially LO could play in there for about 5-10 minutes and then would start tossing the balls out. It was good for my purposes (like if I needed to run to the third floor and wanted him contained) but of course there was lots of picking up the balls... :silly:

I bought a bag of balls at Target to put in a baby pool, but ended up returning them because the space necessary for it would have been annoying and I'm not sure my 2 year old (at the time) would have used it a ton.

I actually saw a really cool idea on Facebook page of a local play area that was a sandbox (could use a baby pool too) filled with sliced up pool noodles. It seems like a cheaper (and possibly easier to store?) way to create a similar play space. Here's a pic, but it's not the greatest since I wanted to crop the baby out.

I don't have one and personally have no desire for one. We were at a friends who did a similar set up and my 19 month old got bored after 2 minutes of being contained, then started pitching the balls out of the pack n play all over the house. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Might be good for a younger baby, but once they're toddlers they want to be more mobile I think. We'll stick to the bigger (caged 😜) ball pits at the indoor playgrounds.

I have 2 PnPs (yeah.....) and I was thinking of turning one into a ball pit with 200-300 balls. The balls are surprisingly expensive! There is an ad on our local moms group for a ball pit + 200 balls for $30, but I think I can get her down to $25 or $20 without the pit hopefully. Is it worth it? Did your 1-3 year olds like ball pits? LO is 16m.
