I was the first this year since I am pregnant, then DH got his at CVS. DD just got hers this past weekend because her pediatrician had run out for about two weeks. I make it a priority every year since having DD and I make sure my husband gets one too. I didn't get it again for the next few years after that. Then I realized how dumb it was of me to avoid the shot just for &gt;24 hours of fake flu. It was actually pretty scary. His temperature shot up to 103.9 and the urgent care place almost sent us to the ER before I begged them to do an influenza test. My son vomited in the car on the way home. I was 6 weeks pregnant at the time and fortunately didn't get it (though I'd had the flu shot in the fall). The kids are in day care so they're exposed to all kinds of germs. I think the flu is most dangerous for kids under five, so they're definitely getting the shot till then. Maybe not afterwards.</p> <p>DD had the flu at eight months when she hadn't had the shot yet. It sucked. She was on fever suppressants non stop for three days, and as soon as they wore off she'd spike a fever of 103. It didn't help that half the time, she threw up the medication and I was scared to give it again and overdose. The first year for B I got the first one and didn't go back for the booster, last year I didn't get it at all. This year I'm going to make sure we all do it. </p>
