I thought I had things perfectly planned for with a May due date. Have the summer off work, not pregnant and huge in the summer, etc etc. Then I had a miscarriage. Once that happened, my perspective changed and now I will be thrilled to welcome my LO anytime including Christmas...

I'm a December baby. It sucks. When I was a kid, people forgot my birthday all the time. They'd also give me one present "for Christmas and your birthday".
Nobody comes to your party because they are too busy with Christmas stuff.

Therefore, I'll REALLY, REALLY, REALLY try to not have a Dec or early Jan baby.

I know, a little crazy. But it just don't want them to go through that as a little kid.

I will try to plan it so that I give birth over the summer, in hopes that my teaching schedule will not be interrupted...but who knows! I'm thinking that I'll plan as much as I can but realize that that's probably futile and try to be okay with it.

As a teacher, I'd love to have a Spring baby. I'd have maternity leave and then summer, so the baby would be 5-6 months old before I'd return to work. But, I don't really care that much, I just want a BFP at some point, so we're starting TTC this month!

Sort of, but not really? I was, on one hand, SO hoping it'd be last cycle (would've tested on Feb. 1 and reclaimed that day from a rather terrible anniversary.) But it also would've been timed so that my husband would've deployed when the baby was under a month old. We're past that time frame now. But this cycle's baby would be due around my birthday, and the next two would be December babies (which would suck financially.)

We will try and time the next one I think so that as much of the pregnancy medical expenses as possible fall in one calendar year. We got lucky with this one and got KU the first month we tried, so maybe it will happen again.

Oh, and a December birthday isn't really that bad! I've survived 29 years of it!

since january starts my off season, we're not starting until may to avoid being due in december. but the other side of that is that my busy season starts in may! so ideally, i'll get KU within four months. i may be eating my words later, but i don't think i'd stop TTC once we started.

Because of starting a new job in August, I'm completed obsessed with timing, even though I know it's not really in our control. We're planning on starting to TTC right before my new job so that I'll have at least 8 months in the job before I leave. That said, if it ends ip taking a year to get PG, I'll be really upset that we didn't stet earlier...

I just wanted to add...after reading the title so many times...you really can't plan your BFP. My brother and sister-in-law decided they were going to get married in June so they could have a Spring baby. Her due date ended up being mid-December! Took a little longer than they hoped for, I guess.

After 7 months of TTC, I'd take a BFP any time! I *might* take it easy in March though to avoid a xmas baby -- but who knows, maybe the laid back non OPKing/tempting/CM charting is what it takes to get pregnant ;)

We wanted a summer baby. After four months of trying, I didn't think that we'd get it and I was fine with it. Well, we got an August due date. Only problem for me is that the big conference for my professional organization takes place in September, so I'll likely miss it as well as actively participating in the organization for part of that year.

I tried to plan it, wanted a fall baby, but 17 mos. later when I finally got my BFP the plans had all gone out the window :) I know a lot of people avoid March/April so they don't have a Christmas baby, and after actually having a Christmas baby (due 12/22, born 12/16) I can understand why. It made maternity leave so much more hectic. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. My SIL tried for several years, had 2 miscarriages, and always avoided march/april. The year they finally decided to stop avoiding that month, they got pregnant!! For the next one, we are just trying to let it happen. (Hard because I am so obsessive, but now I have a baby to distract me.)

When we first started NTNT/TTC, we hoped for a fall baby and if we had gotten pregnant right away we would have had a baby in October. But now it's been a year and we will gladly take a baby anytime :)

There's nothing wrong with trying to time it just so, but just know that sometimes your body has other plans!

We were just hoping for a non-Christmas time baby, however we wouldn't have stopped TTC in March if it didn't happen. We have an early October due date, so that's perfect. timing for me. I can just start work again after the first of the year and will get a couple paid holiday's for Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year Day.

We tried to time our BFP b/c of job-related stuff. I really needed to have a baby between March and June or wait another year. Luckily we got pregnant on try #3, and we're due in April. In general though, you shouldn't expect it to be that easy to time things. I think we got really lucky!

Yes, I am a planner and we have been trying to determine the best time to start ttc even though I know it can take ages. We want to time it so that we have a LO in the first half of next year.

I am finding it hard enough determining when I should stop BC because it's also so hard to know how long it will take for my cycles to regulate and when to start folate.

I think I am overthinking it way too much.

Some things you can't plan, no matter how much you might want to. We would prefer if #2 was not born too close to Christmas, which a March BFP would mean, but I will take a BFP whenever I can get it. Life isn't always neat and tidy.
