We love all holiday traditions, Christmas lights, tree decorating, Christmas parties ect but we also believe the reason for this whole season is to celebrate our Saviors birth. This whole time of year is so joyful and I am glad everyone can find happiness in it even if they aren't religious too. When we spend christmas in Sydney, my husband and I volunteer all day at a shelter where they put on a massive street party for people with no place to go, and we plan to continue that tradition with our son...we don't do presents but donate the money we would spend to the shelter. This year we will be in Canada with my family who also aren't religious, but we do the big christmas dinner and present exchange. It's still my most favorite time of the year though! And when we have kids I'll at least have a nativity in the house and explain to them the religious aspects as well as the secular.
