The facility is nut free...which I understand the reasoning for, but peanut butter is one of the only foods my son eats (oral motor issues).

@locavore_mama: I feel very fortunate that my LO's allergy is mild and limited to not thoroughly cooked egg. I haven't found a daycare that is that committed to keeping kids allergen free... at all. LO's daycare provider actually fed her scrambled egg because she didn't look allergic.

I think its great that you have such a conscientious place.

@Corduroy: they allow eggs IN things. Like baked goods, breading, etc. But straight up eggs like quiche, scrambled, hardboiled are not allowed. A parent sent a older kid in with a breakfast sandwich the one day. Technically by policy they have to throw it out but they didn't want the kid to skip breakfast. So they took him into the staff break room and let him eat it there. Then they completely wiped and sterilized the table he ate at. I'm assuming a kid at daycare has a pretty severe allergy.

My nephew will have his throat start to close up even if he eats something that has touched eggs!!!

LO is allergic but they still serve eggs. I haven't heard of an egg free daycare.

In a toddler lunch thread yesterday I was surprised to see so many parents can send eggs for their toddler's daycare lunch!

LO's daycare is a egg free facility; so no eggs allowed!
