I get a few painful twinges once in awhile, but I have always assumed that it was a tight stomach muscle or something pulling. I have had a few lap surgeries where the incision is on my stomach, so I have also thought it was just the scar tissue getting pulled taut. It feels more like a skin issue to me, though...if that makes sense.

I don't believe baby movement is supposed to be painful, especially in the early months. It would get uncomfortable when she kicked me under the ribs as she got bigger, but never hurt. I would bring it up with your OB.

I don't think I experienced any pain until baby was kicking/jabbing at my insides much later in the pregnancy. I'm sure it's nothing but might be worth bringing up to your ob?

I didn't ever experience this unless the babe was kicking my ribs/lungs or bladder.... but hearing that you had abdomen surgery kinda makes sense... but what do I know. :-P I guess just bring it up at your next appt!

Yes I have had some pokes that were painful along the way. For you I would guess it would be even more likely that you have some pain when they are squirming around since there are two babies squished in there : ) But if the pain becomes more constant or severe don't hesitate to call your doc and check in.

I've been feeling something sporadically the last few days that I think might be the babies moving, but it's just a tiny bit painful which is throwing me off. It isn't a sharp pain like round ligament pain and it doesn't seem like just my uterus stretching since it will happen several times for a few minutes and then nothing at all for a bit. It's not something that really hurt hurts, just sort of an almost painful twinge. I've noticed that it "hurts" more when it's around a former surgery site that's low in my abdomen. I was thinking maybe it's because baby is pushing against my scar tissue when it moves sometimes. I'm 16 weeks right now, but measuring several weeks ahead of that since there are two in there.

Anyway, I'm just wandering if early baby movement ever feels slightly painful, because I wouldn't call this butterflies or bubbles. Any insight?
