Kind of in the sense of growing apps, pages, etc. bs crap that myspace got cluttered with...

Overall I think it's much bigger than ms ever was... and I don't think it'll die out like MS did. but who knows?

I think it's way, way bigger than MySpace ever was. I think in 5 years there will be something more popular, but it will still be around.

I dont think it's the new MySpace since MySpace was never this big... it's way beyond.

I don't have nor have I ever had a Facebook account. I get by just fine without it. I kind of see if fizzling out a bit. It seems like the huge hype of it has gone away and now I hear more complaints about it than anything. I still see it being around in 5 years, but not nearly what to the extent that it is today.

I think there are enough older people (read: resistant to change) on Facebook that it won't go away like Myspace, which was more of a young people thing. Even if something better comes out, everyone is already on Facebook, which is valuable if you want to keep up with family members/old classmates.

Recently read this brutal article about Facebook:

http://www.grobmeier.de/is-facebook-becoming-the-next-myspace-31102012.html#.UJLioeQ73zM

It's kind of amazing how Facebook has slowly changed over the years. Newsfeeds were amazing, but Farmville and social gaming spam overran them... and then there was the whole privacy stuff. And now, Facebook is slowly removing people's abilities to see their friends' updates:

http://dangerousminds.net/comments/facebook_i_want_my_friends_back

I read someone who said that Facebook will never go away... but that it's now the TicketMaster of websites. You'll always have to have a Facebook to signin and comment across the web... you'll just never really think warmly of them. They'll be the monopoly you're forced to use because of lack of choice (kind of like TicketMaster).

What do you guys think... is Facebook the new MySpace? What will happen to Facebook in 5 years?
