I think it's only fair because DH is always good to me on mother's day. I asked my mom if we should make reservations for dinner that night (we're going out with my parents) and she said no, father's day isn't as popular as mother's day so it won't be a big deal. Mother's Day is right around both of our birthdays and wedding anniversary, and Father's Day is right next to DD's birthday. He got me an 'experience' gift this year that we can share, and so far I've made him a photo card (I use cards as a vehicle to print pics and we keep them!). Went out for brunch and cards and gifts. My husband's family, however, didn't do any of that. They didn't even do cards for anything. My husband makes reservations at night for me on Mother's Day and I pretty much told him last year i'd prefer brunch. He made reservations again for dinner this year. :| I feel like dinner is at night towards the end of the day and everyone else has celebrated but us. Every family celebrates these holidays differently, but in our family I feel like it should be celebrated the same b/c we both do our share of things with our kids and both deserve to be celebrated.
