It ends. My kid is almost 6 and sleeps through the night just fine. Once they get almost 2, it's a lot easier in that department.

Thank you all....

Just an update.... I called the school yesterday and see if he's behaving weird...etc as I was debating if I should still take him to do the doctor. They said he was playing fine and napping fine and eating OK, no temperature. Phewl! His fever is gone completely and he slept without a peep last night. Thank God.

And I assume his ears are OK.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks again for all the support...... I really really appreciate it. Sometimes this is just what I needed when a lot of times I feel that I am dealing with all these alone because DH just adds onto the stress. (All he does is asking these questions as if I am doing a horrible job, but that's another topic for another time).

Oh no, so sorry! As a kid who had non-stop ear problems I know how bad it is :(

No advice, but I'll be thinking of you and hoping that your poor LO feels better (and that you can get some good sleep!)

It ends. Then something happens and it starts again. But then it ends again. My son didn't start STTN until he was 2. Now he is up at 3 am again absolutely starving.

So sorry to hear about your LO being sick.. it does get better.. my DD ended up having to get tubes, I'm sure I have mentioned to you before, and it was a godsend. Before that she was sick once a month, on antibiotics all the time until there were no more to be had, and had pneumonia as well.. My DS had two back to back episodes of pneumonia this past fall as well and it was rough. Both of my kids really seemed to have evened out by age 2 (well, DS is 22 months now). Knock on wood.. Hang in there! It's gonna be ok (eventually)...

Yes it will get better. If tubes do become necessary, believe me, it is one of the fastest surgeries and you will be amazed at the difference. C had his first set at 8 months, second set at 20 months plus adenoids removed, and now we are waiting to see what happens since the second set have come out. So far so good (only one ear infection) at 28 months.

Thank you.... I was very bummed last night.

So this morning LO has no temperature and he was in general pretty happy and normal, and since I had to go to the doc so I sent him to daycare. I called the pediatrician and ask them what I should do, and they said I can monitor him for a bit longer, and if he still couldn't sleep tonight, or fever returns, then I should take him in.

Just really frustrated and tired of dealing with a baby (now toddler) that constantly gets sick. Sigh.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I would seriously talk to your doctor about it and let them know you dont think hes sleeping well at all because hes sick. If its another ear infection I would seriously consider tubes (although we haven't had to deal with them like you have). Good luck at the dentist this morning.

Do I ever get to STTN consistently??? Again???

LO is 17 months now. It's been one thing after the other for him. And now he is obviously not feeling very well as he screamed at 12am, then 1am, and he is still screaming on and off. He wanted me to lay there and he would quiet down but I had to leave and he is screaming bloody murder. I had to turn off my baby monitor and close the doors. I feel like a horrible horrible person but there is nothing I can do, and I don't want to lay there all night.

He started having a fever of 101.5 on Saturday night after 3 days of water activities (2 water days at daycare and we went to the spray park on Saturday). 101.8 the next morning but he act his normal self. He was fever free the entire day but got 102.4 before bedtime. Now he can't sleep, but definitely doesn't have a fever. (Very chilled forehead)

Judge me or not but I hv a dentist appt tomorrow at 8am which I can no longer cancel... So if he is fine in the morning I will take him to daycare, go to the dentist, come back and schedule an appt with the pediatrician.

I am just very upset. I thought we dodged the bullet for having tubes put in (after numerous ear infections and many ent visits, doc said we can wait becuz he was clear and that was 2 weeks ago), but now this... Which I am so scared they will tell me it is an ear infection tomorrow. If it were ear infection again we should schedule for surgery right away.

Sorry for rambling but just am very upset. Have you guys experienced with unhealthy LOs and does this ever end?????

2am now and I can still hear him crying.
