He feeds for almost an hour and then starts another feeding 20 minutes to 2 hours later...usually 30 minutes. I'm always checking on our daughter to make sure she's still breathing. Pretty soon you'll get to feeling more comfortable. Imagine how I felt freaking out about every little thing (I think I changed her diaper 20 times/day!). I was like, "I'm a pediatrician, I should know better." I felt worried about everything little thing when our son was a newborn. He felt so fragile and delicate. I sterilized everything and did a thorough body check every day to make sure everything was looking normal. I even had a few middle of the night freak out moments where I would call the on-call doctor. I think it's perfectly normal to feel like that. It gets better as time goes on and they feel less "fragile". :) I'm sure I will be worry-wart mom with my 2nd child too. I get scared every time she cries if it can't be solved by a clean diaper, food or if we can't get her to sleep. I'm just a worrier!!!</p> <p>I thought she had a diaper rash but the redness has gone down and she has finally gone down for a nap since being awake since 9:30am. She's napped in my arms for short periods but I don't consider those "good" naps. Every time I try to put her down she cries. I think the culprit today was her diaper is too small. I changed her into a size 1 and it's the first time she's gone down in her bassinet all day. </p> <p>I love this part. But I also can't wait to get to that magical point where she won't be as "fragile" if that makes any sense.<br /> Where we feel a little bit more self assured in our parenting.</p> <p>Anyone else feel/felt the same way? </p>
