I don't think favors are necessary. We served a ton of food (several course Chinese meal) and had plenty of cake and dduk, so I just set up a candy/dessert buffet with several jars of chocolates, gummies, etc and macarons for people to take home in cute little bags. We also had small packages of dduk for people to take.

At LO's dohl, there were no other kids so we didn't do any favours. I entertained the idea of making favours for all the adult guests but decided against it. The meal was rich and filling enough with plenty of sweets and dessert that I think everything was okay without favours.

I have been to a few dohl parties and the venue staff would divide up the dduk (rice cake sweets) for the guests. At one party there were favor gifts for the kids in attendance.

Are party favors necessary? Adults and kids, or just kids?

Any recommendations? Would $5 or $10 gift cards for the kids be tacky? I was thinking Barnes and Noble or something like that, so the parents could buy them a book
