She loves clothes and picking out her outfits but she also likes to run naked like a wild lady. It's been super hot and humid this year so I can't really blame her for wanting to be naked all the time. She's slowly growing out of it but my nephew is starting to want to naked too. Probably because of his sister though. They never disrobe in public or others' homes but as soon as they get to their home...bam! She's 2 now and her naked stage was awhile ago. She still strips sometimes or runs straight from the potty to outside after taking off her clothes but it's easier to convince her to put them back on. She's gotten to an age where it's more self-regulating and she doesn't want most people to see her without clothes. So she will only want to be naked when it's just us (meaning Mr. T, Lorelei, me or some combination thereof). But the arguing about going outside that way can get wearing. She argues like a seasoned lawyer! </p> <p>For most kids it seems to last a few months or maybe a year. But pretty much all kids get to where that just feels "off" to them (thank you subtle societal norms!) and so it stops. Every time they came over for dinner, she'd be naked or down to her diaper within an hour. But some of that is symptomatic for her: she doesn't like how most clothes feel on her skin. At the age she is now, it is much less problematic in terms of going out. She completely understands when she needs to wear clothes. With the exception of going outside when we are at home. Her reasoning is that there is no one around other than family (which is true for the most part), but our reasoning is that there could be a UPS truck, or the mailman, or a salesperson, and so we just wear clothes outside of the house. She is 25 months and this week, she started potty training herself. She will get dressed to go places but other than that she wants to be naked 100% of the time and knows how to take off all of her clothes. When will this end? </p>
