@erinpye: @Penny Lane: I don't actually know the cousin...I just know that she is the one throwing it. :( Ah, I'm just going to go ahead and ask my friend.

I wonder if it would be more efficient to ask the cousin doing the planning? I personally had no idea when my shower was going to be...

Can you ask the cousin? I'd try and ask the person throwing the shower, before asking the honoree.

I think it's totally okay to ask for a timeframe. Just a "Hey, any idea when you'll have your shower?" ... She probably just doesn't have a date yet.

Agree with the others, since you know it's happening. I hate when people ask me, though, because I'm uncomfortable about having a shower in general. Plus, my close friends and family all live really far away and I didn't want to presume that any of my newer friends here would throw one. It sounds like they are planning to, but I really want no part in the process so its really awkward to field questions about it.

No. I'm a first time mommy and I would be thrilled someone is trying to work their schedule to come to my baby shower!

Personally I don't think it's rude because she knows about it. I had people asking me and I didn't mind.

Since she knows that she is having one and knows who is throwing it, I say it's okay to ask. I had people asking me before I knew I was having one and before I knew who would throw one and I felt awkward about it all.

My friend is pregnant and I know that her cousin is throwing her a baby shower. She knows it, too, so it isn't a surprise or anything. However, no date has been mentioned and I would like to fit it into my already busy schedule. Is it appropriate to ask her or is it rude?
