Well, last night marked day 1 without the pill! We're not pulling the goalie completely yet (yay condoms!), but at least I'm off the hormones!

Go for it. I have a similar issue that I need to keep monitored and so long as you get regular checks I say go for it!

I had a lump while we were TTC that was most likely from coming off BCP. Lots of things can cause them. If your doc says go ahead, I'd listen! I got my BFP maybe 4 months after the lump and have had no problems. I still see a breast specialist every 3 months so she can keep an eye on it. Actually once I got pregnant, the lump disappeared - how weird is that? Definitely something hormonal going on.

I think if she gave you the go ahead to get off BC then you are ok to TTC

A couple things can cause lumps...caffeine and birth control! If your doctor isn't concerned, I would not be concerned! Happy TTC!

I would go for it! If your doctor isn't worried neither should you :)

About six years ago I found a lump in my right breast. I had several ultrasounds and a mamagram not really showing anything. I was being followed by a breast surgeon and she recommended a lumpectomy. I had the surgery and it was benign and fiber static. Since then I have found another lump that is nothing and I see a breast surgeon I trust. All in all I am healthy. I suppose I just have lumpy breasts :)

Thanks for your thoughts! We decided last night that I am going to quit the pill. We aren't going to actively TTC yet, but its a step in the right direction!

I wouldn't worry about the lump if she isn't worried.

I have worried myself, however, about getting a mammogram while TTC. I was up for one because of a previous lump found in my breast (I had a biopsy as well), but it was around the time I was set to ovulate. I've read varying medical stances on whether or not you should have one while TTC, so that is something to discuss with your healthcare provider.

If you aren't completely comfortable with your Oncologist's opinion/recommendation, you can always seek a second (and a third) opinion.

Since your oncologist doesn't seem concerned by it, then I'd proceed. Plus, she mentioned you stop taking your birth control pills might help reduce it! =)

Many years ago I had a lump removed that was benign. Its relatively common for women to have random lumps that come and go and aren't really anything. So if your doctor didn't see anything and says its OK, I don't see any reason why not!

Have you considered asking your oncologist what she thinks?

If she'd not worried about it and thinks it's a good idea then personally, I'd go for it.

My husband I are both in agreement that we want to start TTC sooner rather than later. I am not sure if we should go ahed, though. About a year ago I found a lump in my breast. I have had a mammogram and two ultrasounds, with nothing showing up. I have been seeing an oncologist, and she thinks it is nothing, butnwouldnstill like to see me every 6 months to keep an eye on it.
She just gave me the green light to stop taking birth control, even saying that it might make the nodule disappear.
Here's the question...should I be worried about the lump, or should we just start trying to make a baby and hope it really is nothing?
