I also think it's nice to have ideas for people who ask. Although just so you know.... I made a wish list and had ideas that I listed to people because lots of people asked what lo needed and I wanted to have an answer ready, and not one person bought off the list or listened to me. Not that I care, they got her great gifts and anything at all is obviously appreciated. But why ask and have me do the work of a wishlist if nobody is going to use it?

I have an ongoing amazon wishlist for DD so whenever anyone asks what to get her I offer to send the the link. I only pass it along if it's offered.

I made a wish list for my son but I didn't include it on the invite, just giving it out if people ask for it :)

I don't think it's tacky as long as you don't include it in the invite

Like pps said, if someone asks, I would definitely tell them exactly what she needs! I don't like the idea of a wishlist online or sent with invitations though. People like picking out what they want, especially for children. You can always return stuff!

@autumnlove: agree. First, I would simply offer her clothing size and if they want specifics share your wishlist.

I think it is tacky if you include it on the invite but ok if you send it to a guest who asks for gift suggestions!

Do you think it's tacky to make a wish list for my daughters first birthday party? I don't want people to think I'm limiting them in what to buy or even implying that they have to get her a gift. She needs clothes and got almost nothing but toys toys and more toys for Christmas. While I appreciate everything she is given, it'd be great to get some things she needs checked off the list also. Opinions appreciated!!! :)
