I would say buy a small pack of 4s and see if it makes a difference. Our LO was actually in 4s the longest (not 3s), and we went up to size 4 fairly early b/c she was blowing out of all her diapers too! When the blowouts are becoming regular, I usually say (and have been told) to go up 1 size.

I would say give it a try, or try a different brand and see what works. I think if you were to contact the companies, they would even send you samples so you don't have to buy an entire pack of a different size/brand.

C also wears Huggies and we have no problem with the size 3s. She's heavier than your LO too, about 21lbs.

@regberadaisy: I would buy a small pack of a diff brand and see if they fit better. Huggies in that size just may not fit your LO very well. I've had friends that have had to switch around depending on the differnt sizes, usually between pampers and huggies.

@glimmersnaps: I totally agree. Just having been through different size changes usually when the fit has gotten to where it is now I go to the next size. But everyone saids they're in 3s for a long time so I thought no way?!

She's been in Huggies (little snugglers/movers) all her life and never has problem until they are getting too small fit wise. The 3 overnites are still fitting fine. They had Pampers in the hospital and I did not like how they fit her.

We started using 4's when DD kept flooding/leaking from the 3's at night, even though she was still well within the weight listing for 3's. We used the remaining 3's we had for daycare because they change them ever 2 hours and we felt she was unlikely to flood them I would suggest getting a package of 4's and giving them a try; the added height at the back might be what you need.

I don't use disposables, but I think your baby's proportions might make more of a difference than weight. Even with cloth, those weight recommendations are just guidelines. If she is more bottom-heavy then she might just be filling up more of the diaper than a differently-proportioned baby of the same weight.

I would try a bigger size (what weight does the size 4 START with?) if she's blowing out the back ;)

DS was 18 lbs at six months, he's now 8 months old so I don't know how much he weighs, but he is in 4s now. He was peeing out of his diaper, and that has stopped. But, what I have noticed is that the legs are little big on the 4s so I have to make sure that he is completely in the diaper just right.

Liv is 24lbs (15 months) and still in size 3s in Pampers Swaddlers Sensitives. Shes been in size 3s forever. We tried going up to a 4 but they were way too big. Every time she peed it would hang down to her knees lol. Like @London Mama: said, different diapers fit differently. In her Pampers overnight diapers she wears a 4 because the 3 leaves red marks and she blows them out. So maybe try a different brand or try going up a size just to see how it works

What brand are you using? I found some brands just didn't fit my baby very well whereas others were much better. You could always try a bigger size and see what happens.

Ever since we started solids M has been blowing out her diaper every single morning!!
At first it was a poop as soon as she woke up into her overnight diaper so that makes sense. But now even right after a diaper change it blows all the way up her back! Pretty much every morning it's an outfit change and/or bath. I have noticed it is starting to leave red marks. But everyone saids they're in 3s for a real long time?!
She's probably somewhere between 18-20lbs and 3s go up to 28lbs? Although I don't see how fit wise.

Is it time for me to go up to 4s???
