I'm not sure which side my placenta is on, but I can tell you that we got a potty shot at 12 weeks that very clearly showed something there but the tech said all babies have a "nub" between their legs at 12 weeks. A few weeks later it was gone and we found out we are having a girl. So definitely don't rely on the potty shot at this point!

I researched this to pieces before I knew gender for sure, and my ultrasound tech verified that my placenta was right posterior, so I felt odds were pretty good we were having a boy. We are having a girl:). So I totally do not believe in it any more than any other old wives tale.

The "study" that gives all the data isn't a verified study, and is not peer-reviewed. It's not backed by any type of sound medical organization. It's on a random website, put there by "Dr" Ramzi ( who is not an MD), and you or I could pretty much stick any thing we want on that same site and claim that it happened.

I wondered why more people didn't rely on this bc it seemed to have so much data, but we don't even know if any of it ever took place, and if it did, how controlled and professional the clinical details were. It is not listed on any valid medical site that allows you to view "real" studies.

I don't know. With LO1, it was on right and a boy, and it's on the right this time, but the tech said it was on the right because I ovulated from my right ovary. Not sure, though. But your poll options aren't correct (3rd one).

So I just had my 12 week NT scan. The Tech was able to get a potty shot (not a great nub shot) and it looked like we saw something there--so she said we had a good chance we will have a boy.
But I've done some research and potty shots are not a great method to determine gender this early. But I did find out that the where your placenta is is a great predictor of gender (97%).
Right=boy
Left=girl
Our placenta is on the right, so it looks like we are having a boy.
Just wondering if placenta placement was a true predictor in your pregnancy...
