@Emsmems: @yoursilverlining: @mrsbookworm: @Mrs. Goose: @2littlepumpkins: @mrsmacSLP: @sapphire: @oliviaoblivia: This is a super super late response but I don't think I realized I had comments to my questions until today! ...and I find this situation funny and wish I did see these comments! I did end up taking the Double Bob stroller...and it was a whole lot of trouble! We made the most of it but it was definitely not worth the hassle!

I live near Seattle and can't imagine ever hiking with a stroller, esp a double one. Trails are narrow, bumpy and have lots of branches/roots in the way. I'd bring a lightweight stroller for the city and not bring a stroller hiking (walk or carry kids).

living near Seattle, I'd plan to either carry your children or have them walk. Trails are typically narrow and can usually barely handle a single
Bob stroller.

We brought a single BOB one time and it was a lot. We had the same reason and I don't think it even panned out for naps.

I don't know what it would cost to check it in but I definitely wouldn't bring it through the TSA line/ gate check. I don't know why but every parent I have ever seen with double strollers in the TSA line takes forever and looks totally confused. (I travel monthly for work.) But maybe that's just my luck, who knows. :silly:

The double bob is such a beast, I would really try to avoid bringing it if possible! I'm not sure how that would go for being on a plane too because it's heavy, so I don't know what they would charge extra? And like others have mentioned, it would be annoying to bring it and have it not fit in vehicle or wherever you will be travelling. I know it can fit in most vehicles as long as you detach wheels, but it's still a pain when it's a smaller vehicle. I never fold mine up right now, just use it for walks from my home.

I wouldn't travel with a double Bob. It's difficult to fit in a lot cars, especially if you have other baggage. I don't know where you're staying, but the Bob can also be difficult to fit through doorways

I don't think I would bring the BOB. So big and bulky for just a trip. Unless your trip is revolving around the hiking. Do you think you are going to do that much? Are the trails even wide enough for a double BOB? They wouldn't be where I live, everyone uses backpack type carriers.

We haven't traveled enough with two to really know, so please share your advice. What are your thoughts on bringing a BOB double stroller for our flight to Seattle? We have a Joovy tandem double stroller which is much lighter, but harder to steer and not ideal for hikes. The girls enjoy the BOB better and it would be nicer if we do longer hikes (but won't be doing anything too lengthy anyway). I still have to look into the car we are using as well to make the decision. My husband and I can't seem to agree on this. I'm thinking lighter and more compact (tandem) is better and he's thinking BOB will be a better choice because kids will nap better and it will be better for hikes. I agree, but still....is it wise to travel with something so big?? Are there certain rules for certain airlines about weight of stroller?
